Live music performances are incredible to behold, but rarely do they come like this one, where the musicians are constantly pushing each other further and further under the guidance of a spirited band leader.

This amazing live performance reflects the meticulous preparation that Shaan Chhadva took to reimagine Chet Baker’s music. Throughout his career, trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker (aka the “prince of cool”) created plenty of music to cherish, both as a performer and a recording artist. Chet Baker honed his early chops within a U.S. Army band while stationed in Berlin, Germany in 1946 at the young age of 16. In years after, Chet Baker was chosen by legendary Charlie Parker to join his infamous band. As they say, the rest is history and Chet Baker went onto an incredible career.

Shaan Chhadva was born in Mumbai and then went on to study music at Interlochen Center for the Arts in northern Michigan. He can be found recording under various names, such as Scayos and picture frames. If you like most folks, when you watch this performance, Shaan will blow your mind in piano and as the band leader here setting the pace for trumpet extraordinaire, Ben Dailor, and drumming wizard, Ian Ewing.
