There’s a small backstory to this week’s Brunch Blend, which was curated by our niece, “C.C.”

“C.C.” is short for Carol Clarke, but somewhere along the way she became a “C.C.” which fits her much better. “C.C.” is one cool cat. She earned her way into a performing arts school for high school and met all these amazing kids from around Dallas. Next thing you know she’s 16 years-old and booking these all ages shows at clubs in Dallas. Folks like Leon Bridges came through regularly and these events were just awesome✨.

Nowadays C.C. is off to college studying “planetary” science at New Mexico State University and of course, she’s working at the college radio (yes, those still exist!!). This year, C.C. spent the two semesters playing down in Chile studying…and get this, she texted everyone telling us that she’s cooking up a “country soul ceviche” for Nana’s holiday brunch this year. Between us, something tells me she’s brought home a BF too.
